Alexia's POV. Four days later and there has been no progress so far. His condition wasn't getting worse. His vital signs were still very much stable but he wasn’t showing any signs of waking up just yet. The doctor said the anesthesia has worn off already and all we have to do is wait for him to wake up. Ann and Ben are starting to lose the hope that they were so filled it when they first arrived. It was obvious that Ann was getting more worried with each passing day. Sometimes I find her sitting by Nathaniel’s bedside staring at his face and lost in her thoughts. Ben was still trying to be strong for his family but he was already losing that spark of hope that was shining brightly in his eyes when I first met him. And Natalia, I have to give it to her. She has so much faith in her brother. She doesn’t even seem fazed by it or maybe she was just very good at hiding it. The familiar sound of heels clicking on the floor filled my ears before the choking smell of perfumes filled my no
Alexia’s POV. “You know, staring at him like that won’t make him remember you all of a sudden.” Cynthia aka Barbie doll whispered beside me. I didn’t think she was capable of whispering. I didn’t bother to spare her a glance or even give her a reply because she was right. I have been standing by the door since the doctor left and I have been staring at him, wondering why he couldn’t remember me. Is this some kind of sick joke or something? He remembers every other person but me and to top it all off he thinks Cynthia is his girlfriend. That only means that he doesn’t remember what transpired betweeen the both of them. Suddenly what the doctor said started making sense. Maybe his brain somehow suppressed all of his painful memories and that only shows how much what he saw between me and Liam broke him. I wonder how he must have felt. He must have been very hurt. Hurt enough to want to forget. There is only so much that one can take and he had to witness someone cheating on him twice
Alexia's POV.The plan is to make Nathaniel relieve our moments together and we planned on putting them into motion the moment he gets discharged but first I needed to figure out a way to stay in the house with him without him questioning my existence. I can’t leave him alone with that blood-sucking Barbie doll— the fact that I call her all sorts of names and I don’t feel bad about it. The doctor said they had to watch Nathaniel overnight and if his condition is stable enough then he can get discharged tomorrow morning. He also said we shouldn’t push him too hard, he said something about it affecting his brain or something— this is one of those rare times that I wish I was good at science— and he might just end up not remembering ever again. Natalia and I had dinner with Lara before she left. I honestly don’t know what I have done to deserve friends like them. “Did you have dinner yet?” Ann asked when I and Natalia returned to the room. I nodded. “Yes, we did.” “Okay, we are just
Alexia’s POV.Nathaniel is getting discharged today. The doctor said his condition is stable and he doesn’t need to stay in the hospital anymore but he can always come back if he has any complaints. He also reminded us to take the whole memory thing easy with him. Cynthia has been glued to his side the entire day. Smothering him with attention and they even kissed once, right in front of me, I had to leave the room because the green-headed monster was already rearing its head and it was seconds away from pulling Cynthia’s perfectly made hair out of her scalp. I have been playing the role of a housekeeper since last night. Natalia was having the time of her life watching me play the role and there is Ann and Ben, they have been apologizing every chance they get like they were the ones that removed me from Nathaniel’s memory. Did I mention that Nathaniel doesn’t remember staying in the apartment complex? Well, he doesn’t remember it so Ben had someone to go to his mansion and clean the
Alexia's POV.Calling this place a mansion doesn't do justice to it. The place is like a fucking palace and I already knew I would need a map to be able to find my way around. Painted a white and baby blue color. It has a big waterfall in the middle of the compound — you know the kind of waterfall you see in those fancy hotels— yep, those. They were all sorts of flowers planted around the house. All I can say is the house looked like something that came straight out of a royal romance movie. The interior of the house was even more beautiful than the exterior. Entering the house made me realize what Nathaniel meant when he said staying in his mansion can be lonely. I can't tell the number of rooms that this mansion has but it is a lot and too much for one person to live in. The other mansions in the neighborhood have the same structure and you couldn't even tell that people live here due to how quiet it is, you could hear a pin drop. Natalia and Cynthia helped Nathaniel to his room w
Nathaniel's POV. I have imagined a lot of things happening to me. I have a lot of worst-case scenarios in my head but I have never ever imagined losing my memory. It has never happened to anyone I know before and I have only heard or rather seen it happening in movies but that shit ended up happening to me. It has got to be the sickest joke life has ever played on me. I don't remember how I got in that accident in the first place. I have always been a careful driver, for someone who loves and makes cars I always pride myself on being the most careful driver ever but somehow I managed to get in an accident that took my memories away— at least some of them. I remember my parent and my annoying sister, I remember leaving Paris to study and I also remember my girlfriend and childhood friend, Cynthia. Although she looks different from what I remember. Take for example her hair, it has only been two days since I have been discharged and I swear I haven't seen her hair out of place not eve
Alexia's POV. I and Natalia were so lost in dancing that we didn't know when Nathaniel joined us in the kitchen and he has been staring through me since we found him. It was like he was looking at me but not really looking at me. "Nathaniel," Natalia called his name but he didn't answer. I don't think he even heard her at all until she shook his shoulder and snapped out of it. "Is everything okay? You have been staring at Alexia since." She asked him.He looked at her and then turned to look at me and I know the scowl on his face shouldn't surprise me anymore but it still did. One minute he was looking through me with a confused expression on his face and the next he was busy scowling at me. "Who is playing music?" He asked harshly. "I am," I answered automatically. "Do you realize you have been disturbing the entire house? Your stupid music woke me up from my sleep." He was almost yelling and I flinched at his loud voice. "I will turn it off immediately," I said stuttering a b
Alexia's POV. "Can you stop bouncing your legs? You are shaking the entire table." Lara asked sending me a glare. We were currently at the Starbucks close to my apartment and I just finished narrating the entire incident with Cynthia to her. I haven't been able to calm down since Cynthia told me about her plan. I couldn't relax— it is physically impossible to relax. "I can't help it," I said and she rolled her eyes at me. "What happened with the cookies? Did that get any reaction out of him?" She asked. "She ate it all," Natalia answered absentmindedly head buried in her phone. "Excuse me?" Lara asked. "I ate it all," I answered her knowing well that Natalia would soon zone out. Lara stared at me in disbelief. "What do you mean you ate it all?" "I didn't mean to. I was just stressing after what Cynthia said I kept eating it and I kinda finished it all." I said. Lara let out a small laugh. "How do you eat like that and never add weight?" "Great metabolism?" "Right. Now that
