Chapter 13 - Going Rogue

Sally POV

We reached the bridge that headed into town. I had hidden my backpack under a large rock by the river that flowed underneath it.

When I came back up to the road I checked that nothing was missing. Everything had been left untouched while I was gone, so all the cash was still there. I heaved a sigh of relief.

I looked at Elijah and nodded.

"All good." I chirped. “My brother Luke gave me some cash to start over. I have tried to save them the best I could. Maybe we could use it as a down payment on an apartment or something.

"Great." He smiled, showing some dimples in his chin. My stomach did somersaults. I really liked his smile. We were in such a serious situation, and we still weren’t out of danger, so I haven’t really seen him smile much this far.
