Chapter 38 - Invasion ll

Elijah POV

I quickly shifted back and ran over to Joe. Carefully, I turned his wolf so that I could check for a pulse.

My trembling fingers tried to locate his pulse, but couldn’t find it.

“Joe!” I called out. “Joe!”

I heard the snapping of bones and looked up to see my father standing over me.

“Why would you kill him?!” I snapped.

Before he could answer, I lunged at him.

I didn’t care anymore. This man stopped being my father a long time ago. This stranger standing before me was nothing but a cruel man that had pestered my life for too long.

If I was in a fight in human form I had a better chance. I managed to punch my father square in the face.

We both tumbled to the ground together and my father elbowed me in my chest to get me off of him.

Still lying on the forest floor, we struggled for a while.

The rage I felt for this man was unreal. I couldn’t stop the red haze that clouded my vision.

I wanted to kill him.
