Chapter 39 - Aftermath

Alex POV

“SOMEBODY HELP!”

I heard George’s voice when he rushed through the hospital.

When I turned around I saw George carrying a lifeless Elijah.

Immediately I turned into emergency mode and found a gurney. George placed Elijah down and I started working on him, barking out orders to the two nurses closest to me.

One of them hooked him up to a monitor.

“Blood pressure dropping, pulse spiking.” He said.

I immediately located the gunshot wound in his head.

“Bring him to surgery, right now!” I ordered.

We rushed him down the corridor to a theater and started to prepare for emergency surgery.

I frowned when I looked at the wound.

“Why isn’t he healing anything on his own?” I mumbled.

As a human doctor in a werewolf hospital, I had received some extra training to know that even when badly injured, the wound would start to close up in the edges as a first sign of a werewolf’s rapid healing.

Elijah didn’t have those.

“Run his blood and check for wolfsbane.”
