I quickly was able to whisper to Reese what Rogan said and she seemed a bit stunned as me. Both of us wondered what it meant but knowing that both now Laura and Rogan had confirmed it I mentally prepared myself for what was about to come. It was close to dinner time and everyone began taking their seats. It was a round table so I was able to see and speak to everyone. Laura sat on my side and Reese on the other I knew for support. I was especially grateful for these two because I knew when things got a bit scary this evening it meant that I could grab either hand and feel loved. I was also whirling about my wolf and the feeling I had just a short moment ago. I pondered if this was my wolf trying to tell me what I had wondered all alone but maybe now as Rogan became so close perhaps it was so obvous. I did another scan this time avoiding the Alpha table altogether and saw Erin standing more like lurking outside but still able to see and hear everything. I felt like this was his way
“That is enough!” The alpha now yelled over everyone. “I have heard enough and I do not see remorse from you, Melina.” She began to yell again but this time, “I command you to be quiet, all of you!” I had never seen the Alpha’s true anger and seeing it now told me he was more understanding than I’d ever known about the situation. I respected and valued him more than ever before. With his command, the entire garden became quiet and Melina to having no choice but to listen to her Alpha. “Melina because you show no remorse for your actions or give me any reason to allow you to stay in your position I hereby demote you from high priestesses and pray for the moon goddess to bring us a high priestess of the white wolves who can lead with respect and honor.” The Alpha looked up and then gave a signal. I saw the guard from behind now restrain her and then with a quick motion the other bring out a hot iron and they now burned Melina’s skin as she cried out where her High Priestess marking wa
One white priestess was crouched down on her knees and for a moment I had to take a moment to focus but then I was brought into the light and saw it was Caroline. Sophia and Clara were on either side of her going to her aide. Then Laura made her way over and Laura gasped. “Caroline you have the High Priestess marking.” “What that can’t be?” Caroline tried as she might turn and see but the marking seemed to be on her shoulder where Caroline could only catch a glimpse of this. “How is this possible?” She looked in complete shock and I first I was too but then I found myself standing and clapping. Sarah quickly also emerged followed by many others and then the entire pack was clapping and howling. Caroline twirled around looking in complete shock and fear but tried to smile then she turned to the Alpha. “I think the moon goddess has made a mistake.” The Alpha didn’t argue openly instead he smiled and pulled her into a giant bear hug. I learned later he simply told her that the moon
The dinner was a true feast with multiple courses of salad, soup, the main course of chicken, and dessert. It was filling and delicious. I knew I’d eaten way too much as it felt more as if the corset lace on the back of my dress was a giant not squeezing me together. Still, the conversation was light with many congratulations and truly a memorable night with many people that I appreciated. Rollo’s laugh carried throughout the garden and all seemed to be happy at least at my table. I looked over on occasion at the white priestess table still seeing Caroline in shock but also saw some who didn’t seem as pleased. I’d hoped Caroline wouldn’t have too many obstacles or too much resilience as it truly was best for my white wolves. I would always feel connected to all of them even if it was official that I was labeled as different. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about the new title but I did like the idea of having a say on the High Council. It was a bold move for sure by the Alpha so I
As I entered outside the guard I finally took a look at was frantic and concerned, “Please do not say anything to anyone until I speak to the Alpha.” “Okay, that’s fine.” He was shaking he was so terrified, “Please I beg of you not a word to anyone.” I shook my head in understanding as I watched him head directly to the Alpha. I couldn’t imagine who I would even tell about that experience besides Rogan, Laura, and maybe Reese but I wasn’t even sure what to say about everything I felt I needed to speak directly to the Alpha about what the rogue wolf had just said to me. I watched as the guard hurriedly made his way to the Alpha and the Alpha’s eyes grew then he searched the garden area and locked eyes with me. He scowled at me at first but then looked around again this time I saw he made eye contact with Rogan and motioned for him to join him. I stood where I was because if I was correct the Alpha would be coming towards me at any time. Sure enough, it seemed the Alpha had ca
Although I knew Rollo would soon find out about the rogue wolf almost escaping and me being involved I didn’t say a word at that moment. I didn’t want anyone else worried about me, especially when apart I was not frightened when it came to the rogue wolf. I felt like if I was truly allowed to speak to him that he would give me more information perhaps on when and how there would be an attack. I felt like this information was vital and made a promise to myself to pursue it further when things had calmed down. The Alpha and Rogan were now fronts in the center of the stage preparing for the beginning of the ceremony. The moon Goddess seemed to be glowing and I admired her from up above not even acknowledging all that had occurred tonight just glowing with her many gifts. “Everyone if we could please prepare ourselves for the upcoming ceremony.” A hush came across the garden and some either sat down or remained where they were. I noted that there were now screens up most likely for
I knew the Alpha did this to distract any more conversation about the matter but I wasn’t sure how the next few hours would go now. As we took off the Alpha and Luna led and Rogan lead the way behind them, “Come on Kellina I want you beside me.” I looked back to see Laura and Rollo keeping pace so I moved to join him and they did too. I had never been so grateful to have them all beside me as I looked out in the distance I saw Erin running and hoped he was okay with the new events. The funny thing about it was it didn’t matter anymore who was alright with any of it anymore because the moon goddess had decided as the Luna so eloquently stated. Still, I worried had it would impact the pack, those we loved, and how Rogan and I would move forward. We stopped at the same spot we had for my ceremony in the open field looking out into the wood. The moon glowed above us and I let the cool breeze flow through my fur as I relaxed and gathered my bearings. Immediately many of the pack approac
“What are you two discussing without me?” Rogan gritted through his teeth and he came close. My thought was he presumed his mother was being angry towards me but I knew what her true intentions were. I went up to him nuzzling his neck and he calmed a bit. “Your mother and I were just discussing some of our future as mates now.” I push into him extra so he knew I was happy about it. He put his head down curling me into his larger wolf body. He looked up though at his mother. “I will not have you trying to keep us apart anymore mother.” He stated so simply but it was full of anger. I understood where he was coming from because now that it was out in the open it felt more upsetting to him that they had insisted on keeping us apart but the other side of me knew they were trying to protect him and ensure the pack accepted us all. It was why no matter what happened with us being mates his father had named me a High Priestesses. It ensured protection for me no matter what Rogan and I
