Chapter 22: Hot Soup

KEILAH

"Where are we?" I asked when he pulled me into a steep uphill.

"We're still in the castle grounds," he said. "Don't worry."

"I'm unfamiliar with this place."

We stopped for a while, and he tightened his hold on my hand. "Do you trust me?" he asked.

I pursed my lips together and nodded my head.

"Good," he uttered. "We're almost there. Just don't let go of my hand, alright?"

"Okay," I said softly, continuing to follow his lead.

After a few minutes of walking, we finally arrived at our destination.

"We're here," he said. "God. This view looks really beautiful."

I turned my head to the side, yet saw nothing but lights and shadows.

"Yeah," I muttered under my breath, a bit dejected that I couldn't see the beauty he was referring to.

It felt like he noticed my change in mood, so he cleared his throat and started speaking.

"Over there is the setting sun," he said. "It's a bit orange, with clouds of dust of pink surrounding it."
