Chapter 62: Never Enough

I took a step to the side, still with my gaze on the two of them.

I knew instantly that they knew they were mates.

It was apparent in the way they looked at each other.

However, they didn't acknowledge it with words—as if it was no longer needed.

They were mates.

No questions are needed.

Matthew stood up from the couch and walked over to where she was.

I was right beside her, but his gaze did not deviate toward me—not even once.

"Hi," he breathlessly said, an amazed smile on his face.

"Good morning," Summer greeted, still with a professional voice. "Shall we start with our discussion?"

Matthew cleared his throat and took a step back.

"Right," he said. "You can sit over here."

He sat back down on the couch and gestured toward the spot next to him, where I originally sat.

"Thank you," Summer said, sitting down next to him.

It shouldn't hurt like this.

It really shouldn't.

Especially since he already made our relationship very clear in the beginning.
