Chapter 49 | A New Member

I watched from afar as Lux got in her car to leave, and I just knew in the pit of my stomach that this was going to be the last time that I ever saw her. Tears pour down my face and I can’t stop them. My stomach is in knots, and I feel like I could throw up at any moment. My wolf, Jax, got extremely quiet and then it’s like he just went numb.
When I walk towards the pack house, Kai tries talking to me. I appreciate him trying to be a good friend, but right now I don’t want to be reminded of Lux, and that’s all he reminds me of at the moment.
I go off in search of Amber, hoping that maybe she can help me get my mind off of everything.
