Chapter 7 | For Us
Lux
I lie in Silas’s arms trying to enjoy the time we have together. It’s only a couple more hours before the full moon will rise and we will do the ritual to try to send us over to the other world. He mindlessly plays with my hair and my phone rings and without him saying who it is I already know that it’s either Kai or my dad.
My dad apologized for not telling us about the Olympia Pack but said he honestly forgot it existed. He and my mom found out about it in their early days of ruling and they never had a reason to connect with them that they just forgot about it. It made sense, I wasn’t upset with him about it and I’m over being upset with Kai, life is too short to hold grudges.
Silas answers the phone, “Hey Kai.”
“Hey, how are you two doing?”I feel him reposition so he could look at my face and he says, “We’re good. We’re ready. Once we finish this part of the journey then we’ll get to come home.”I smile softly at the thought of it. Kai says,

SilasHades instructed us on how to get out of the underworld. After he left, it was back to the way it was, just dark and full of smoke and fog. We walked for hours before I finally saw a light and as we got closer, I could see waves and I led us toward a dock.It was beautiful, but the water looked like it went on forever. We stood hand in hand in silence as I tried to figure out what the next best step would be. I say, “This is the River Styx. LuxIt felt like it had been at least two days since we started following the Fates. Kodi was exhausted and I’m sure that Jax is, too, but we are all determined to keep going. SilasI yawn as I wake up and I notice we’re not moving. I sit up and see our boat is now on land and Jude is nowhere in sight. We are at the base of an island and there was an enormous mountain… no, it’s not a mountain.
