Chp 18 Pt. 6 The Twins

Haley

When I wake up I sit up in a panic. I feel the familiar sparks traveling up my arm and see Avery is a sleeping with his head on the bed while holding my hand. I look around the hospital room searching for my babies. I pull my hand out of Avery’s and try to get out of bed. I wince as pain from my stomach spreads throughout my body from my movements.

“Easy Haley. You almost died.”

“Avery, where are the twins?”

I hear a knock on the door and Dr. Sully walks in.

“Luna, it’s good to finally see you awake. We were worried about you.”

“Where are my children!”

I see Akila and Mason behind Dr. Sully, each with one of my kids. I cry at the sight of them and reach my arms out for both of them. I hold them close and kiss each of them. I let out a small laugh between my sobs and Avery kisses my forehead.

“Can I feed them?”

“We had to give them formula Haley,” says Akila knowing Haley really wanted to breast feed them and we can all see the disappointment in her eyes.
