Alpha Avery I walk Haley back to her cottage, wanting to make sure she makes it inside okay before heading to my office. I need to get a lot of work done so I can spend the day with my mate on our date. Mason is already in the office getting some of his own work done when I walk in. “How is my sister-in-law doing brother?” “She is much better.” I can’t help but think back to our conversation and her letting me kiss her. Haley The next morning I feel much better. I examine my leg and find there is not a trace of the stab wound, not even a little scar. I find myself looking out the window wondering what Alpha Avery is up to before getting ready for the day. Christmas is coming up and I’ll need to grab some presents for the boys, my guards and the Alpha. Maybe even my future brother-in-law. “Morning Haley.” “Morning Ray. Where is Nick?” “He’s still training. He’s gotten quite good but he’s sulking.” “I’m sorry.” “We know Haley. Just give him time, he’ll get over it.” “How is the store coming along?” “It’s just about ready. Haley The shop seems all set and the boys are making fliers. I pull out a guitar and play Jessica Simpson’s song, With You. I can’t help but smile as I think of Alpha Avery when I sing the lyrics. I am so lost in the music I don’t hear beta Mason walk in. “You have an amazing singing voice.” I jump, startled that he snuck up on me and was listening this whole time. “Don’t stop on my account.” I blush and set the guitar down. I don’t mind playing for an audience but I’d rather know when I am. I would’ve picked a different song. “You shouldn’t sneak up on people like that.” “Sorry. We have a shopping trip remember?” “Oh, right. Sorry you have to take me shopping. Alpha Avery After Mason told me Haley felt like someone was watching her I have doubled the patrols. All that was found that day was the scent of Red Moon and some wolf tracks. For now they are just following her, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t planning an attack. “How is Haley,” I mind link Harrison. I can tell she wants her space. “She’s fine. I would never know anything happened earlier.” “She tends to keep things bottled up. Let me know if she needs anything.” I hate that she does that. Haley Avery gives me a quick kiss before heading to his house to shower. I rush upstairs and jump in the shower as well, letting the hot water soothe my sore muscles. As soon as I’m finished and I get dressed, I go to blow dry my hair. The minute I turn it on, white powder is blown in my face and in my hair. I can hear snickering from the hallway as I cough from the white powder floating in the air. “Ray!” “I told you I would get you back for earlier,” he laughs running down the stairs and out the door. “I’ll get you back, don’t you worry,” I yell back. “You two keep me out of your prank war,” chuckles Nick. I clean out my blow dyer and get the baby powder out of my hair before I finish drying my hair. Once I am satisfied that it’s completely dry, I go to grab my straightener and let out a scream. “What is it? Haley After I dismissed our waiter, a young waitress takes his place. She is definitely eyeing Avery but she isn’t inappropriate which is fine by me. You can look but don’t touch. The food is amazing just as Avery promised. It’s still too early for the movie but he parks our car at the drive in theatre and we walk to a nearby ice cream shop. “So tell me, what was your favorite thing to do as a child?” “Trying to know all my deep dark secrets Haley?” “Absolutely,” I giggle. “Well, my dad use to take me and Mason fishing up the river. We’d make a yearly camping trip out of it.” “When was the last time you guys went?” “It’s been a few years.” “You and Mason should go. Haley Alpha Avery continues to show me around the pack house. It really is quite beautiful. The basement I see has been remodeled to be more like a huge game room with a fully stocked bar and spare bedrooms. The top floor is called the hobby room but I see it’s used for more like storage at the moment. Maybe I can change that. We go back down to the second floor and he explains that there are two bedrooms along with the master suite before trying to drag me back to the first floor. “Hang on, let’s see where the great Alpha Avery spends his time,” I laugh before opening his bedroom door. My jaw drops. His room is huge with two closets, a whirlpool tub, walk in shower and a fireplace. Surprisingly he is very clean and organized. Alpha Jake was always dirty and it took me forever to clean his room. Alpha Avery I wake up the next morning in pure bliss. My beautiful mate spent the night and is currently sleeping peacefully in my arms. I wanted so badly to mark her last night but I didn’t want to push my luck. I hope she doesn’t regret what we did last night when she wakes up. “Alpha,” says Mason through the mind link. “You better have a good reason for interrupting my morning.” “Sorry but we captured a Red Moon scout. He was watching you and Haley last night.” “I’m on my way.” I cut the mind link and carefully climb out of bed. I push my pillow under Haley’s arm and thankfully it works. She doesn’t wake up as I change and head out to the cells. I moved the cells from the basement to it's own underground building. Both Spartan and I are raging mad someone was watching us during our date and we didn’t notice. As I reach the cells I can smell burn flesh and hear screams from pain.
