Chapter 43: Reminiscence: There's A Limit, One Can Possibly Take

"I'll be gone for a while." I almost spat my coffee when Lia broke the silence between us. We were having breakfast, as usual when suddenly, she opened up the topic of leaving.

This is the first time she asked something like this. We were inseparable. Yet, the way she spoke, there was something in her voice. It was rather…cold.

That petrified me for a bit.

"Gone? Wh-where are you going? And…for how long?"

Shit. Does she know?

"Don't worry. It'll just be for 5 months."

"Just 5 months?! That long?! Where…?" I blurted out erratically, my voice almost dissipated into thin air.

Damn it…is she…leaving me..?

Just the thought of it made my heart ache. Before I could respond, she smiled sweetly. Gone was the slight coldness I heard from her.

"Don't worry. Sammy will take me out on a vacation. My grandfather gave him some free time and he wants to spend it with me. Pretty please? I miss him so much." she pleaded before reaching for my hand.

"Mr. Samuel, as in your family's butler?...Okay fine
