Chapter 45: Reminiscence: My Surrender Is Still A Victory

"Here. Have a drink."

"Thanks."

"Has she calmed down?"

"Yeah. Feel asleep. As I expected, the cold got to her. Remind me to stop by at the supermarket later. She needs some porridge when she wakes up." I sighed in frustration. It didn't take a while for Lia to cry herself to sleep. It seemed she finally let the fatigue and stress get to her. Leaving her in my bedroom, I transferred to the living room to finish up a few documents and workload.

Limwel, who stayed in the same presidential suite as I am, looked confused.

"Uhm…and you're gonna cook?" My temple immediately creased at his sarcastic question.

This secretary of mine is seriously getting on my nerves these past few days.

"Why? You don't trust me?" I took off my glasses and was about ready to fight. I thought he'd be intimidated but oh boy, this man just closed his eyes and shook his head, even went so far as to bring his forefingers in a crisscross.

Seeing his nonchalant attitude, I felt my head twitching.
