Simone's pov

She was wearing rubber gloves.

She pulled out my house key and dropped it on the table before searching through again. I tried to be optimistic that some of my textbooks can still be revived and tried not to look at the floor below the table where my homeworks, all drenched and ruined with ink spread across the paper, sat.

I would have to do them all over again, and some I couldn't finish this night and would have to fail them tomorrow because I wasn't able to meet up with the dead line.

I'm just happy that my phone wasn't dumped into toilet by that bird brain. I could replace come textbooks with my savings, but how would I have gotten a new phone??

"Your dad will working late at the office tonight, so maybe these will be able to dey our near the oven before he gets here." Mrs. Gua said, and I smile up at her in appreciation.

"Thank you so much Mrs Gua," seeing as she had gotten the textbooks which were drenched with toilet water, I followed her into the kitchen, and once we arrive there, I see Thomas sitting on the counter, a smile on his face as he's texting someone who I assume is his new girlfriend, Jane.

"Thomas, be useful and take out the trash. It's almost tipping over- can't you see?" She sneers at him before turning on the oven.

I find myself running my eyes over his tanned muscles which the tank top he's in highlights. His hairy legs are in view and the palms on his feet are as ink black as his shiny, washed hair which always looked like it had some oil on it.

It looks healthier than mine.

I had arrived her for over thirty minutes and he's been here the entire time?

I was mad that he didn't make himself available, knowing I had come home, but suddenly, he raised his head, and it's like my words had frozen In my mouth and my heart beat increased frantically when his kissable lips curls over his upper teeth and his dreamy eyes twinkle in mine.

"Hey Mony."

I roll my eyes. Mony was the short form for Simone but I didn't like it.

"Thomas." I acknowledged, but my lips fell in devastation to see he was back to texting again. A sad expression falls across my features, but I turn my attention back on Mrs Gua to see her turning on the oven and opening up my textbooks before the now hot oven.

"Cooking books? Now that's new." My heart flips and my throat runs dry when I feel a prescence behind me.

His cologne- a mixture of blueberry and sandwood intoxicates me and makes my stomach flip inside out. His breath makes my heart drop down from my chest, and my breathing turns even when I realize how close we were.

I try to stay cool and act like it didn't matter that he wasn't just standing so close and protectively behind me like my boyfriend.

"Mony, Aren't those your textbooks?"

"Yes… I got them from the school's toilet when… "

My eyes widened when I realized Mrs Gua was unknowingly about to tell Thomas what had really happened, so I turned around and hot Thomas's attention as he dropped his head to lock eyes with me.

"I mistakenly dropped them while… " my face redenned. "peeing."

God, kill me now.

Mrs. Gua's phone suddenly starts ringing, and my heart began pounding hard when she excuses herself and leaves us alone in the kitchen to answer to the call.

"Peeing?" He raises one of his thick brows. "What, you peed with your backpack open and turned upside down?"

I was suddenly left speechless and it dawned on me that I hadn't really made sense.

Great. Just great. He had not only found out I was lying, I had also embarrassed myself.

I had just parted my mouth to say something, feeling the fierceness in his eyes command me not to lie again, but Mrs Gua pops her head in, holding the mouth piece on the telephone.

"Simone, it's your dad."

She leaves and I immediately follow her, glad that I don't have to anything to Thomas. But suddenly, he grabs my hand, and I turn, surprised to see that Thomas was actually holding me.

Butterflies flap widely around in my stomach and I resis the urge to take his fingers into my mouth and suck on them sensually while we lock eyes.

I'm a virgin (Another secret I'd like to take to my grave, because only weirdos and unfuckable assholes stay virgins in highschool) but I've read every erotic romance book and watched every romance movies you can ever think of.

So having not even gotten my first kiss yet, I had alot of fantasies. I was an erotic writer too. Though I haven't monetized my work yet, because I only wrote like once in a blue moon when I had time.

"I have to take the trash out, but can you come up to my room later, let's talk."

Like a fool, I nodded and stood rooted to the spot, not realizing when he squeezed my hand gratefully before smiling at me, grabbing the trash bags with ease and walking out.

The scent of his musky, expensive Cologne still lingered in the room, and I took a deep breath of it to calm my heart down, but it only made it beat faster and the butterflies in my stomach flap harder.

Why would he want us to talk in his room? I mean, I only went there when I was sure he wasn't around- maybe to get his dirty Landry for his mom or sometimes we watched movies there together, but what did we need to talk about?

Why couldn't we talk in the kitchen? I mean, that's where we talk all the time. And the living room… there's the dining room… the laundry room.

No Simone, don't over think it, he doesn't like you that way, maybe he really just wants to talk. He wouldn't even think of hooking up with someone like you. You're a nerd to him.

I should just stop overthinking this.

Unless…
