Chapter Forty-Eight

For a moment, I held in my breath, wondering if Atlas had finally put two and two together, and finally figured out what was going on in his mess-up family.

But he suddenly chuckled and said, "What's with the long faces? I was kidding."

The sound of laughter echoed in the hallway as his uncle cracked up. But I could hear the nervousness in the voices.

After the annoying laughter died down, King fixed his gaze on Atlas and me and asked, "It's a serious concern that someone wants you dead, Atlas! We are all very worried here."
