Chapter Twenty Seven
The next morning, Aria and I were seated in the conference room, awaiting my uncles because I had called them for an emergency meeting.
Although I wasn't excited about returning to work so soon, right after uncle Kerri died and just a day after uncle Lex's funeral, I knew the company needed me more than ever before.
My entire mind was crowded with thoughts as I stressed about how to handle things at the company. Then I suddenly snapped out of my head when I felt Aria gently squeeze my hand.
Looking down at her fingers entangled with mine, I smiled as I forgot a bit about my worries.
"I'm glad you are here with me," I mumbled, raising my gaze to meet her eyes.
"Of course. I'm your bodyguard. It's my duty." Aria said, and I slightly frowned.
Then I softly sigh and mumble, "I meant, you being here for me as my girlfriend."
