Colleague

‘Don't worry. Her colleague seems to be a good man,” Nick reassured her after he saw the worry on her face.

Carol nodded her head in a daze before she looked at him and suggested, “I hope so.. Do you want to watch a movie while waiting for the rain to stop?”

Nick shrugged his shoulders. “Why not?’’

Carol took the remote and turned on the television. She had just turned it on when the electricity suddenly shut off.

“Oh shit…” she cursed.

The entire surroundings became pitch black until Nick turned on his phone’s screen.

“I’m sorry. This is the first time this has happened,” she shyly told him.

“No worries. Do you have a candle?” he asked, looking around.

“Well, as I've said, this is the first time that this has happened. We don't have anything here. Not even a flashlight,” she said in a low voice, embarrassed.

‘’Oh, if that's the case, the torch in my phone will be our only source of light:

“Yes. Wait. Let me get my phone. Do you mind if you lend me your phone? I will just get my phone
