CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

To get my mind off of him, I flicked through the pages of a random book. I didn't want to confess that it had affected me, to see him with her. But I needed to put some distance between us before it got too difficult for me to breathe without him. It was written on my face and I didn't want him to accept it, whatever offer she was giving. I forced my attention on the book, " Alyssum! Come downstairs. " His loud voice came. 

       My body jolted as the book slipped out of my hands. I rushed downstairs, " What happened? " I asked, stopping at the end of the staircase. 

      " Dinner is ready. Come, " He said looking up at me. 

      " Oh! I thought, " I whispered and walked away from him. I kept my gaze at the floor and walked to the dining table. The Interior wasn't completely changed from the previous setting. They had renewed the previous. I loved it better. Shining and new!
