Chris took my hand across the table, interlacing his fingers with mine affectionately.

I smiled and glanced to the side, feeling a bit embarrassed. Chris offered a seductive smile and whispered a joke in my ear, making me laugh. It wasn't because the joke was good, but rather because it was so bad that it was funny. He then assumed a more serious posture, and I could hear him licking his lips. I felt his fingers caressing my hand.

The ambient music in the restaurant created a very romantic atmosphere for a young couple. The tables were filled with people engrossed in their own conversations, oblivious to their surroundings.
