Without saying anything, a few seconds later Ethan got into the car and started it to go back to the city.

It was already around 7pm and we were arriving home, the road was much shorter than on the way, maybe because of the movement of cars.

When we arrived, I ran up the stairs and in the middle of them, Ethan's voice stopped me.

"Minerva".

"Yes?," I turned to face him, feeling a little more confident from a distance.

"I'm going out for a while now, okay?," he looked me in the eye, even though he was near the front door and I was halfway up the stairs.

"Where are you going?," I asked, trying to sound as disinterested as possible.

"Relax, honey, there's no reason for you to be jealous. You'll always be my favorite," he gave me an innocent smile.

I rolled my eyes, turning my back on him and continuing on my way to my room. Idiot. What do you mean, jealous? As if I really cared where he was going and with whom.
