As Kyle drove away, he couldn't help but steal a glance at the man in the rearview mirror, trying to piece together the unexpected encounter.

However, his attention swiftly shifted to Kaitlyn as he sensed something was amiss. Observing her in distress, he decided to pull over and park by the roadside. Concern etched across his face, he gently grabbed Kaitlyn's shoulders, making her face him.

"Kaitlyn, what happened back there? Who was that guy?" Kyle asked, his tone filled with genuine concern.

Kaitlyn, still visibly shaken, took a moment to catch her breath before explaining, "That was Dean, my ex. I didn't expect him to find me here."

Kyle's brows furrowed, "What does he want? Why did he approach you like that?"

"I don't know. We ended things badly, and I left to start anew. Seeing him here, it just... it brought back memories I wanted to forget," Kaitlyn confessed, her voice wavering.

Concern deepening, Kyle reassured her, "Hey, you're safe now. Take your time, catch your breath. D
