Chapter 66 - Grace Stewart

Grace POV

“Just sign the papers Frank,” my mom says as my dad’s eyes are still on me. “We don’t have all day,” she adds, but he seems to be ignoring her.

“Mr. Stewart, everything is the way it was discussed. You can sign it with no issues,” my dad’s new lawyer says, but he keeps his eyes on me. I won’t stop staring at him. I am not going to show him how much he has ruined our relationship.

“Just sign the papers,” I let out and he blinks several times, as if coming back to himself. Dad moves his eyes from me to Mom and then at the papers as he takes a deep breath signing the papers. I can hear my mom stop breathing and I hold her hand under the table, giving it a slight squeeze.

The lawyer grabs the papers and stands up. We all stand with him and when my dad opens his mouth to speak, I interrupt him, focusing my attention on my mom. “I’m going to the bathroom,” I say, turning my back and walking out of the room.
