Chapter 80 - Grace Stewart

Grace POV

Sitting at the dinner table feels weird. I rest my forearm on the linen tablecloth, trying to stop my hands from shaking, and look at the plate in front of me. The food looks amazing, but I don’t want to eat anything. I don’t know what they have put on the food. What if there’s poison?

“You can eat sweetheart, if we wanted you dead you would be dead by now,” Lorenzo Parisi says. “You are worth more alive than dead. I can’t say the same thing about your dad though,” he adds and I frown as I look up to look into his eyes. Why is he mentioning my dad right now?

I grab the fork and slowly move it over the food, stabbing a small piece of cucumber and bring it to my mouth. The explosion of flavors in my mouth with the seasoning almost makes me moan, but I keep my mouth shut. “I know you are vegetarian, so I thought you would like the salads,” he says, and I nod slightly as I eat a little more food.
