Aunt Anna

The first rays of the morning sunlight which peeked through the curtains, gently permeating the room, bashed Ava's face which prompted her to scrunch her brows. She moaned softly from her sleep and tried to keep her eyelids open, but compulsively closed it and turned to the other side of the bed because of the reflective brightness of the sun.

Her head throbbed with a splitting headache, and her parched mouth felt as if it had spent the night in a desert as she groaned hard. Slowly, she sat up on the huge white bed while touching her temples, with her body protesting each movement as she tried to stretch them out of ache. It took a moment for her bleary eyes to adjust to the daylight streaming in.

'Where was she?' her head suddenly asked her in high alert, as her eyes looked around suspiciously to check where she was, and why she had woken up a mess.
