An enemy within

I left granny's room to find my earring, however, other than that, I found Florence outside the room. The state I found her in was quite frightening.

"Did you burn yourself," I asked and reached for her hand when she withdrew it from sight? She was sweating so much as if she was going through pain.

"Elina, why don't you go back inside…" Florence said, sounding irritated and was about to walk away when I held her back. I wanted to see her hand. The burn didn't look ordinary.

"Let me see it, who hurt you.. did you burn yourself in the kitchen?" I asked while attempting to get hold of her arm. It was impossible when the lady kept shoving me away. She seemed furious which I failed to understand.

"That's enough Elina…stop meddling in my affairs!" She made a low yell and pushed me away before I could see and hurried down the passageway. I didn't want to follow her despite how curious I was. I watched her retreating form until she disappeared down the hallway.
