CHAPTER 9

"Hello, boss," Margret immediately answered the office line.

"Come into my office right away," Liam instructed. Margret gulped, quickly stood up from her seat, and put the phone down. She saw Bambam smiling at her as she prepared to attend to a client sitting in front of her.

Some clients entered Margret's office to see her too, but she directed them to other staff on the third floor, knowing the new boss disapproved of being kept waiting. Margret walked swiftly to Liam's office, knocked gently, and heard his curt reply, "Come in."

Margret swallowed hard as she opened the door and walked into his exquisite office.

"What took you so long to respond to my call?" Liam questioned, his eyes fixed on his computer screen as his fingers rapidly typed on the keyboard.

"I'm sorry, boss. I came back late from lunch," Margret replied. Liam paused his typing and looked up at her.

"Do you want to be fired?" he asked.
