Chapter 39. Missed calls

"Big sis, your phone was ringing, so I was coming out now to give it to you," Glory explains to Anita, handing the phone back to Anita.

Anita takes her phone and instantly looks at the caller.

"Temisa," she says, and the phone rings again while she instantly picks it up.

"Hello, Temisa, good evening," Anita says first.

"Good evening, girlfriend. I just completed my meal, and my father can't stop telling my mother and brother about you today," Temisa says, chuckling.

"Really?" Anita asks nervously as a smile spreads across her gorgeous face while she enters her bedroom.

"Yes, my father cannot simply cease portraying you to them. However." Temisa's voice trails off, and Anita can sense her despair.

"About what?" Anita inquired in a very concerned tone.

"Hmph, not to worry; just family matters."

Anita can hear Temisa's sighs and knows Temisa isn't ready to tell her about her father's criticisms of her.
