Katie's POV

Isabella's father, Thomas, showed up unannounced at the hospital. I could feel the tension in the air as he walked into the waiting room, looking both nervous and hopeful.

"Hello, everyone," he said, his eyes flickering nervously over our faces. "I heard about Isabella's condition and I wanted to come and see if there was anything I could do to help."

I could see the skepticism on our faces, but Isabella surprised us all by smiling weakly and gesturing for him to come closer.

"Thank you for coming," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm glad you're here."

Thomas looked relieved and grateful, and I couldn't help but wonder what had led him to reach out to us now, after all these years.

Over the next few days, Thomas proved himself to be a valuable ally. He helped us navigate the complicated medical system, connected us with the best doctors and resources, and even stayed with us in the hospital, taking turns with us to sit by Isabella's bedside.
