Katie's POV

A few days after James was arrested, I received a package in the mail. It was a small box, wrapped in brown paper and tied with a red ribbon. I hesitated before opening it, but my curiosity got the better of me.

Inside was a single sheet of paper, with a message scrawled in James's familiar handwriting: "I'll never stop loving you, Katie."

I felt sick to my stomach as I read the words. It was clear that James wasn't going to give up that easily. And I didn't know how much more of this I could take.
