I left the dungeon for Herald’s office. Nathan told me that Herald would be working, if he wasn't training he would be working. The expression on Nathan’s face when he mentioned Herald made me know that he was seething, perhaps it was one of the reasons he didn't want to talk to Herald. Nathan’s involvement could show Herald his feelings for Ameerah which would only worsen her case.

Before I left there the duo were holding hands and staring at each other intensely. The fear of losing the other was prominent in their eyes.

By this time I was in front of the Alpha’s office, but I was too scared to knock and go in.

“I can sense you, what do you want?” His hoarse voice sounded behind the door. My heart tightened in my chest at the sound of his voice, and I looked at the door expectant of him.

“I will ask just one more time, what do you want?” He asked again, his voice deeper than before. I could only stare at the door with a thumping heart, my entire body telling me to turn back
