02 - CHAPTER 2

"I really thought the mysterious goddess of yours was part of my portal's unknown side effect, you know, hallucination?" Sarreth said as she sat in front of her own laptop.

Sarreth's statement ended up causing my brow to furrow. What the hell with her self-invented portal's side effect? With such a beautiful face and voice, is that goddess still a work of hallucination?

"There's no way, Sarreth; the smell of her blood can literally drive me insane, like yeah," I said with a smile. "I'll go to any dimensions to get my hands on that treasure," I added, making Sarreth laugh.

Since I arrived, it's been the same old shit, we're still learning about the human realm so I can adjust, will I'm not having trouble interacting with them.

A week has also passed, and I believe I've been here for nearly a month and counting. Sarreth, Sam, and I are still residing in the condominium. I can't live by myself without breaking the human law, so even though I'm a freeloader, I have the courage to complain every day.

This is only a temporary situation. If everything goes well, I'll purchase my own house and look for a decent job because I don't want to be reliant on Sarreth for the rest of my life.

There's no fucking way.

Sarreth may have laughed at me when she took me in a few weeks ago.

"What you're doing is risky, Celare," Sarreth said abruptly.

I turned my head to Sarreth because I had been staring at the television.

Risky?

"How so, you little shit?" I asked calmly.

For me, I'm simply trying to satisfy my curiosity because who wouldn't? Since that day, that mysterious and fascinating goddess has held my attention and interest.

I'd never met anyone like that before.

Myself is undoubtedly the epitome of perfection but that goddess just hits different. Her beauty is one-of-a-kind. She is white, but not as pale as we are. I believe her face was engraved on my mind and soul in that brief moment.

God damnit.

She had long black bouncy hair, while I had a long black shaggy mullet with white highlights.

I was suddenly motivated to dye my hair completely black.

"You are aware that you cannot love another person if they are not your mate, right, Celare?" Sarreth, the little shit, asked.

Sarreth's question prompted me to raise my brow.

Of course, I'm well aware of that shit. My mate is irreplaceable to me; no one can ever fill them in every way, but this whole thing about this mysterious goddess gives me a fucking burst of energy.

Who wouldn't do anything to satisfy their curiosity?

"Of course, I am aware. Why are you having doubts about that?" I frowned as I turned my gaze to Sarreth, who was sitting at her table, her gaze still fixed on her laptop.

"Does that mean you still haven't found your mate?" Sarreth's tiny mouth asked again.

Sarreth's question had taken me by surprise. Well, shit. It has been 1,430 years and I still haven't found a mate. I can't help but wonder if I should keep hoping for it.

That my mate was just fooling around somewhere waiting to be found?

Is there any hope at all? After all, I'd been waiting for years, not just waiting, but looking for my mate in Silvania, and nothing had changed.

Instead of finding my mate, I am subjected to a slew of insults. They laughed at me as if I was the most miserable in the whole Silvania that they had to make me feel like I was alone because the mate I was hoping for was nothing, it's not for me.

That is why I brutally murdered fair number of vampires.

They always made fun of me for being mateless, but they couldn't treat their mate the bestest.

If only my mate was already by my side, I would definitely make them feel loved and treasured. I will always treat them with the utmost respect, and I will never make them feel alone or uncomfortable.

I couldn't help but laugh. My said mate is the only one who is missing to accomplish that stuff.

I clenched my fist. "Do you think I should be here alone if I found my mate?" I asked to Sarreth, I'm not looking at her this time.

My gaze was fixed on the television.

"Do you think your mate is a human, Celare?" she asked sternly.

I let out a small laugh in response to Sarreth's question, revealing my natural canine teeth.

"I haven't heard anything like that, you little shit, what are you saying?" I asked back, softly laughing.

"Well, I've heard something like this before," Sarreth said, standing up at her table and walking to the front of the sofa I was sitting on.

"Who the fuck?" I demanded flatly.

Sarreth's arms were crossed. "Brat, stop cursing."

I cracked a grin. "Why tho? This is ridiculous, Sarreth." I replied, my hand included more action in the air.

Sarreth simply smiled at me and answered my previous question again, which was the reason for me to come to a halt.

"Have you heard the story of the first vampire, Celare? It says in the books I've read and heard from my parents that the first vampire's mate is a human," Sarreth says.

I was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing. "I haven't heard anything about that." and smiled. "stop watching too much people in that long ass rectangle." I said while pointing at what we were watching which sarreth was laughing at.

"This thing is called T.V short for Television, Celare. Looks like we are always repeating this over and over, ah? Are you really too lazy to study?" Sarreth asked me with a laugh, which makes my expression darkened.

"Do I look like I went here to study the fuck of everything I see?"

Sarreth gave me the worst grin I'd ever seen, and I knew nothing good would come of it.

"Does that mean you don't want to meet your mysterious goddess?" This silly question caused my eyes to widen.

What the fuck?

"Of course not!" I exclaimed.

Sarreth laughed at me and said, "Then work hard and study everything for a month, and if you can't do that, you'll say goodbye to that mysterious goddess."

This piece of shit.

"You know I have my own limitations, right, little fucking shit Sarreth?" I smiled, but the crack in my voice made Sarreth laugh even harder.

She even pressed her stomach, making my face look terrible.

"That's far too simple, Celare. You can simply exceed your limit and meet the goddess a month from now."

If this dwarf could speak, you'd think what she was asking me to do was far too simple.

"Do you want me to use that thing?" I wondered out loud.

Sarreth thumped me up and smiled beautifully. "Exactly, my friend. Don't you want to speed things up?" she replied.

I felt obliged to throw this dwarf out the window.

"You know how my nose always bleeds because of that fucking ability!" I grumble.

Yes, in addition to manipulation, I have this ability that allows me to easily memorize anything.

I developed this ability when I was a child since back then, I have a hobby of memorizing books because I can forget so by being sharpened, it became my second ability.

"Well, let your nose bleed or forget that mysterious goddess, your grace, Celare Hikari Helan?" Sarreth irritated me greatly.

I closed my eyes in annoyance.

"Fine, fine. If you break this conversation, Sarreth. Swear, I will literally end your life." I threatened her but she just smirks at me.

Even before Celare could answer me, Sam's voice stopped Sarreth, she was talking about snack.

"Girls, the snack is ready!" Sam calls us from Sarreth’s kitchen.

Sarreth stood up as Sam called us.

"Lets go, Celare. Don't make my wife wait." Full of arrogance Sarreth told me.

I cringed.

"Too corny." I answered and we started to go to the kitchen to eat.
