Chapter 37

Irene's P.O.V

My knees weakened to the ground, recoiling in horror as I tried to suppress the screams that escaped my mouth by covering my mouth with my hands. I rubbed my eyes with my fingers to be sure that I was seeing right. "T-This can't be true" I stuttered, gasping for breath as I wrapped my hands tightly around me.

Slowly, all the memories about my mom that I have locked in the furthermost corners of my heart came rushing inside my head like a flood. Her lifeless body hanging from the ceiling with her curly black hair falling on her face were memories that I would never be able to erase no matter how much I wanted to.

The more I stared at the lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan, the more all the memories came rushing into my head. When I took a clearer look at Lily's cold face, I saw my mom's face in hers.
