Chapter 46

My sight was blurred as my eyes fluttered open slowly. I felt a sharp pain in my head and it felt like my head was being pounded on with a pestle. I had no idea about where I was and I was still trying to process where I was when I heard the sound of someone's footsteps approaching me.

Then the sound of the footsteps stopped and the next thing I heard was the clicking of heels against the hard marbled floor. Screwing my eyes shut, a groan escaped my lips because of the pain in my head that intensified.

I tried to move my legs and that was when I noticed that my legs and arm were tied together with a rope. My eyesight began to get clearer and I could hear the voice of two people conversing in the background.

"Oh! She's awake!" I heard a female voice say in the background as I tried to register the voice in my head, trying to remember where I had heard that same voice.
