I was slowly opening my heavy eyelids, my whole body aching as if I was cooked in a burning fire. I tried to lift an arm but it was impossible because of the intense discomfort.

"I'm not dead?" I mutter lowly in my mind as my blurry blue eyes gaze up at the blank ceiling until my visions were pronounced and I realize that it was morning already.

"Gabrielle!" I heard a familiar gasp from afar and then faint brisk footsteps follows and it occurs to be Duncan as he sat beside me.

"Are you alright?" He worriedly asked me, staring at me with so much concern while I looked blankly at him.

"Where is Hidalgo?" I raised a question instead at him, I thought I had a dream where Hidalgo spoke with so much affection to me.
