6. Hormones.

She walked down the stairs elegantly as she arranged the clothes she wore. She looked around the house and every damn thing gave her goosebumps. She had never seen a place this large and beautiful. Everything in the house literally costs a fortune and she could tell just by looking at it.

Fuck! He's wealthy.

She was beginning to feel tense. He is not a common man, no normal person would have this exquisite taste. She stepped down from the last stair as the maids gestured her to one of the sits at the large dining table, which consists of 18 chairs. She felt lost in the room.

She looked at the table and her jaw dropped open. She had never seen anything like it. Every single dish you could ever ask for breakfast was on the table. She turned her head left to right when the maids served her. She was speechless. She had never been served before so, it felt awkward. She just watched them.

She wondered where Scott was. He told her to come downstairs for breakfast. She looked at one of the maids as she spoke to feed her curiosity.

"Um, are you expecting guests?" Her tone was low. The maid bent her head as she answered her. She was shocked that the lady their master came home with was talking to her. For the records, Nolan never brought a woman to his private mansion. If this woman is here, then it must mean that she is special. All the maids paused as they watched her eat.

"No, ma'am".

Ma'am?

She just fucking called me ma'am.

.

.

He came out of Nolan's room as he arranged his hair and took a deep breath. He just escaped from the devil. Lately, his moods have just been terrible. The only time he feels this way is when winter is around the corner. He lost Kyla during winter and he had never been a fan of the season since that happened.

What the hell is his problem?

He arranged his clothes and headed to the elevator.

He sighed.

If only there was a cure for his illness. Not being able to feel any emotion is equivalent to not being able to taste anything. At this point, he can only see colors and breathe, they were nothing more he could do apart from that. Kyla's death made him a lost cause.

He stepped out of the elevator and strolled towards the large doors. The bodyguards in front of them opened the doors, bowing their heads in a slight nod in greeting. His steps were soft, he spotted her on the table. They just met and he doesn't really know her– even if he did a background check on her. But he could tell from the look on her face that she wasn't comfortable.

Silly maids.

The maids were standing directly beside Carolyn as they watched her eat. They didn't spot Scorpion coming. His voice sent chills down their body.

"Do you mind giving miss Carolyn a little bit of privacy"?

There was no expression on his face. After what he just went through, he was still in a terrible mood and wouldn't mind venting the rage he felt on someone else. The maids bent their heads and quickly deserted the room.

There was a smile on Carolyn's face but she could sense that something was wrong with him. She didn't want to sound and look all desperate, besides, they just met. But she couldn't help it. This is what happens to her all the time. Her hormones always seem to fail her whenever a hot dude is attached.
