Baker's POV

I didn't get any sleep last night. I kept reliving our conversation over and over in my head. The way her face paled as she took in what I had said. Reyna didn't even give me a chance to explain anything else. She excused herself from the office, and I was too much of a coward or too bullheaded to follow her. Maybe even both.

I knew she was safe on pack territory, and even Flint agreed that we should give her some space. But I didn't expect it to bother me so damn much.

So now I'm sitting at the island in the packhouse, nursing a cup of coffee silently beside Lincoln.
