“Thank you for the drinks,” Avery said and smiled flirtatiously after Alex and Jon arrived at their booth. She motioned him to sit next to her. Jon took a seat next to her friends and started a conversation immediately so Alex could have her all to himself.
“The pleasure is all mine, beautiful,” Alex said. His piercing blue eyes gazed into hers, making her feel flustered. He inched closer and twirled a lock of her hair on his finger.
“Did anyone ever tell you that your eyes are insanely blue? They are gorgeous and so intense!” Avery mused. She had a dreamy look in her eyes. She was either desperate or already drunk. It doesn’t matter, Alex thought. He got her where he needed her.
