A week later...
"For the last time Adrian, get your men out of our way and allow us to see the Alpha!" Cassius, a member of the council and warrior leader, yelled impatiently as he stared furiously at a nonchalant Adrian.
"Show me some respect Lord Cassius. I'm not one of your men that you think you have the right to order around. I'll only let you see the Alpha when he tells me that he's ready to see you but until then, keep yourself and your men away from the Alpha's quarters if you don't want to see the very nasty side of me," Adrian threatened, not giving a damn about the fact that Cassius was one of the highest ranking councils in the pack as he was in charge of training the pack warriors.
Cassius let out a loud laugh as he could not believe his ears. The audacity Adrian ha
There was total silence in the room as soon as Ryan and Adrian walked in.Surprisingly, every member of the council had gathered in the meeting room already and Ryan could already tell by the looks on their faces that they planned on attempting to irritate him to no end."Welcome back to life Alpha Ryan," Nigel, the oldest member of the council, spoke up, not bothering to hide his sarcasm."Thank you Nigel, it's great to see you too," Ryan replied sarcastically, with an unbothered look on his face. His main goal here was to announce Amelia's presence and also let them know he was back to himself, even though it was temporarily."We heard from Cassius that you asked that we gather here i
"Are you bored?" Amelia asked Isabel who sat lazily on her bed with a tired look on her face."Isn't it obvious? There's literally no difference between being here and being cooped up at home. The only thing that changed is the size of the bedroom and the luxurious privileges but besides that, there's really nothing else to write home about," she replied, expressing how tired she was."Things would be much better if we could at least go outside and roam around freely," Amelia muttered with a sigh."I know it would but at the same time, it wouldn't be the right thing to do. Adrian already told us what to expect at least till Ryan gets better and we can't afford to put ourselves in danger just because we feel suffocated. When the time is right, we'll explore
"Apparently, we have a Luna now. Isn't that the most hilarious thing ever?" Cassius stated sarcastically as soon as he got seated. The council members aside Lionel and Fritz had gathered in Nigel's home that was located a few blocks away from the fortress. After hearing about the supposed Luna's existence, they had all decided that they needed to discuss how they'd have to deal with the situation."It's ridiculous Cassius! How did he even meet a woman? We all know the bastard never leaves his room for anything," Nigel hissed furiously as the mere thought of her presence angered him."Could it be another one of his lies? I wouldn't put it past him," Omar chimed in and Cassius scoffed."W
Ryan sat in his office with his head resting on the table in front of him. He had excused himself from Adrian briefly so he could get some alone time to get his thoughts together. He actually felt very tired and in pain and was hoping he could get some rest before resuming his duties but after he happened to overhear Cassius and Adrian earlier, he knew his plan would no longer be possible.A knock on the door distracted Ryan from his sleep, causing his to groan angrily."Who is it?" he hissed, wondering why anyone would still attempt to bother him even when he had asked for some time alone."It's me Adrian, sorry to bother," Adrian replied, immediately walking in.&n
Isabel paced around the hallway aimlessly with several thoughts running through her mind. After her conversation with Amelia earlier today, she hadn't exactly been herself. She didn't want to think too much about her situation but speaking with Amelia only made her realize how completely lost she really was. Not only did she not have an actual life, she also didn't know where else to go from here. If Ryan and Amelia where to get married anytime soon, Amelia would officially become Luna which means her right to reside in the fortress would become valid but as for her, she had absolutely no reason to be here. She couldn't possibly live as the Luna's best friend for the rest of her life and she had absolutely no idea where to go next from here in order to find her own mate.
"I can't believe you're finally getting out of here sweetie. I'm so fucking jealous of you," Isabel joked as she watched Amelia stare at herself in the mirror for the thousandth time."Oh please Isabel, don't exaggerate it. It's not like I'm actually going anywhere special or anything like that. It's just a simple walk around the place but you know, I still can't believe Ryan and I are actually going out for a walk. I mean, I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just surprised that it's actually happening because I did not expect it," Amelia said, turning away from the mirror to face Isabel."What exactly is so surprising about it? I mean, aside from the fact that you weren't aware that he was already back to normal, shouldn't you have expected something like this to happen? As far as I know, going on dates or strolls is perfectly normal f
"Where is this place?" Amelia asked as she walked into what looked like an old building.Ryan suddenly became excited after their small talk and he practically pulled her to this place that looked completely old and dusty from the outside."You probably don't know this but because of my condition, I never really played around much like other kids while growing up. I became the Alpha at the early age of five so I had to do a lot of reading and studying on how to become a perfect Alpha regardless of the fact that I was weird. So, this place is what I call my favorite place in the world," Ryan explained shyly, piquing Amelia's curiosity."Why is it your favorite place?" she asked excitedly and Ryan mentally heaved a sigh of relief that she didn't look bo
Ryan and Amelia had walked around the fortress and Ryan had shown her a few other places that he was emotionally attached to. The night was getting darker and they both decided to sit by the lakeside that Amelia didn't expect to see.According to Ryan, the lakeside was their final destination for the night and it also happened to be one his favorite spots. Amelia had seen a completely different side of Ryan today and like she hoped, he wasn't half as bad as everyone thought.Behind the person they all called crazy was a goofy, nerdy and adorable man, who genuinely appreciated the littlest things and was passionate about the things he genuinely liked. They had visited the official library of the fortress earlier and just like he bragged about his secret room of artifacts, he didn't stop gushing over the fact th
