Chapter Forty-Eight
"You did what?" Adrian asked, with his eyes growing ten times wider than usual.
"I a... agreed to be a part of the blood moon festival as requested of me by Lord Nigel and the council members," Amelia replied nervously, hating the fact that they were all making her feel foolish for agreeing to be a part of it. First it was Lady Camille, then Lord Lionel and Lord Fritz and now Adrian was also wearing that look on his face that was only making her feel much worse than she already felt.
She had come to realise that she probably made the worst mistake of her life by going into the meeting room in the first place and then, her second mistake was agreeing to what the council had asked her to do without confirming the consequences first and speaking to either Ryan or Adrian about it.

Amelia woke up with beads of sweat formed on her forehead. She kept panting heavily and was struggling hard to get back to her regular breathing pace. She looked around her bedroom not exactly sure what she was looking for but when she confirmed that there was no one else in the room besides herself, she let out a sigh of relief. She didn't remember exactly what had instilled this fear in her but for some reason, she couldn't help but be conscious about everything around her.
