The vessel was in a small clearing in the forests of the in-between. It was laid out on a stone alter. A corpse which had been slowly coming back from a state of decay, with the help of my blood, over the last couple weeks. It was entirely ready, its wounds healed and flesh unmarred.

I felt the spell crawl up my throat. It was a creepy feeling, which I sincerely hoped never to feel again. Putting my hand up to my mouth, the spell popped out. The inside of the spell swirled a vortex of dark red.

“Hello. We’ve come to restore what you lost.” I murmured to the corpse. “In a little while, we’ll bring the anchors.”
