Chapter 41 Dreams 5

 Later, as we are settling down for the night, Lily lets us know that Nick had to be sedated. There were also signs of past abuse, healed bones and deep bruises. Doctor thinks most of the broken bones happened months ago; since Nick hasn’t shifted yet he was forced to heal at a human’s pace. Just what hell has this child gone through?

Samantha didn’t take the news well, and she is sitting on the roof. The moon isn't full, but she says the half moon may still help calm her nerves. I’m giving her space because she asked for it, but I agreed only if I could check on her once she was gone for more than 30 minutes. I could feel her emotions and they were scaring me slightly; going from extreme rage to sorrow back to rage again. I was feeling exhausted, and these wasn’t even my emotions. I glance over as she climbs back in the window and I go over and hug her. She is shivering and I kick myself for not making sure she had a coat.
