22. Escape: Death

Elisha’s POV

Arman's face turned red as he tried to combine all the words. I'd never seen him like that before, but I could feel his burning desire to hold me close because he didn't want to be away from me. It was like a kid who didn't want to share his candy with anyone. He let his sweat fall and said softly, "I—I mated with her already."

"You did what?" Beth asked angrily to her son. As she took a stride forward, her eyes burned with wrath, and in response, I took a step backward and sought to grab Arman's arm. Arman pushed me behind him and murmured, "Don't worry,"

“I didn’t raise you to be so desperate for a human girl, Arman!”

“Mother, It’s none of your business—”

Beth stormed angrily, “You can’t talk to me like that, if your father was still alive, he would have turned you into a pitiful puppy!”

I wanted to laugh at what his mom just said, and Arman sharpened his gaze at me, so I covered my mouth with my hand and pursed my lips.
