38. Forbidden Desire

★ELAINE'S POV★

“Thank you, I'll be joining them soon,” I informed the omega and he bowed before strutting off.

Closing the door shut behind me, my heart started to thump faster than usual. Would I be able to face them tonight? What would happen if I didn't acknowledge Delta Logan's condition?

Deep down, I knew the answer to that. Yet, I didn't want to admit it. So I trudged to my closet, wore a nice loose-fitting yellow gown, pull my hair into a bun before walking out of my chambers to join them.

They were debating away at the dining table, but the moment they noticed my presence, everywhere went silent.

“Why didn't you come for lunch, Lady Elaine?” Beta Adrian asked me.

I swallowed hard then replied. “My headache became worse.”

“Oh, I didn't know it was that serious. Would have requested a physician from the pack infirmary.” Gamma Genevieve added.

Again, I managed a small smile and said. “What I needed then was rest, and I think I'm a little better now, thank you.”
