Aria's POV:
"Aria, are you awake?" Clarren softly speaks.
Every day he came by my room to check up on me. I can sense that he is worried sick about me judging from the tone of his voice. Ever since we arrived in the Southern Hemisphere, I locked myself in my room just to lie down on my bed and stare at the ceiling.
I don't feel like doing anything, my will to fight is gone. I can't imagine my life without Dylan and all of my hopes vanish along with my strength to move forward. He used to be there by my side every step of the way and now that he is gone, I just don't know what I will do with my life. He is the only one who understands a creature like me. The feeling of betrayal and deceit is killing me. I love him so much, and the pain in my heart is unbearable knowing that he is contracted by the Demon King to take my soul.
The Demon King will do anything to separate and emotionally
Clarren's POV:We left the fortress at the same time as Amenadiel's group. Amenadiel is kind enough to lend us his horses and chariot to transport us to our destination and which is the Northern Hemisphere between latitudes 8°4'N and 37°6'N and longitudes 68°7'E and 97°25'E.I've noticed that Aria is quiet ever since we left the fortress. I wonder if there is something about what Amenadiel told her that kept herstupefied and deep in thought. Aria saw me staring at her and for some reason, she bounces back to her normal self."Are we there yet?" Aria impatiently said. She sure is the same Aria who is always anxious and agitated."No, and stop asking me that questions. We just left an hour ago in the fortress and it will take us a few days to get there," I respectfully replied to her.I'm not really sure if she is testing my patient or if she
Clarren's POV:"Just as I suspected you are all asleep." I blurt it out loud and release a sigh of irritation."I can't believe it! Is my story that boring that they all fall asleep?" I said to myself. One by one they all woke up from slumber as if nothing happened."Are we there yet?" Aria hoarsely said and releases an audible yawn.I spend a whole day explaining the story of Riztine the Daayan and here you are sleeping as if you are listening to a bedtime story," I exclaimed and ignored her question."Hey Barbie, for your information, I'm a demon and demons don't sleep," Oslec responds quickly while looking at me with his tired eyes."I just close my eyes for a moment and visualized your fairytale story in my head to capture every moment of the events," he said in his defense."Yeah right,"
Aria's POV:"I can't move! What is happening to me?" I said to myself.I look around me and saw Oslec shaking my shoulder and yelling at me. He is calling out my name. I wanted to respond to him, but I can't utter a word. No, I can't move my lips, nor move my limbs. I felt completely numb.I believe that the witch tricked me and now, I ended up being cursed. Clarren is now fighting the daayan and I can see he is struggling especially since he is avoiding making eye contact with her. Clarren places a piece of cloth in his eyes to prevent him from looking into Riztine's eyes and relies only on his instinct.I've known Clarren all my life, and he has very strong senses. Maybe because he is an angel. He may be a fallen angel and most of his power has been stripped off him when he loses his wings, nevertheless, he is still one of the best warriors in heaven. He was fighting the d
Aria’s POV:Riztine froze for a while and from the look on her face, it seems that she started to recall everything that happened to her in the past. She burst into tears as the memories flashes back in her head as if it was only yesterday."I killed those innocent lives. I only do it because of those gold coins. It is my only ticket to be with my beloved Lemuel," Riztine said in a shaky voice. I can feel a sense of remorse in the tone of her voice. She looks upset rubbing her face with her hands and crying out loud."Riztine, listen to me carefully. Killing people and stealing their coins are not going to help you reconnect with Lemuel. It doesn't work that way," I said to her."But if I get enough coins, it will get me to heaven," she confusedly said to me. She's looking straight into my eyes waiting for confirmation."The coins can take you to heaven, bu
Dylan's POV:Despite our best effort to control the situation in the Southern Hemisphere, the demons are getting closer to the barrier, and more human lives are becoming casualties of war. Night and day the phoenix couple has stayed up on guard to ensure that nobody else gets hurt.Over the years, demons have learned how to disguise themselves, walk and live amongst humans. They have increased in number and are smarter than ever. Like me, they have learned how to hide their powers so that demons and angels cannot detect them. Hiro, Emann, and I were in charge of evacuating the humans and taking them to a safe place. We find it hard to identify the demons and the humans for they all look the same."Hiro, check everyone before you take them to the safe house. We can't afford to let a demon in the headquarters," I reminded him."I can't detect which one is the demon and which one is hum
Dylan’s POV:We are busy testing the powers of the silver fox when a group of angel soldiers arrived on the scene. One of them is dressed differently from the rest of the military troops and from what I can tell, he possesses the highest rank in the military. His armor is gold-plated, unlike the others who wore silver armor. He carries badges that are pinned on his armor which stated his achievements from the previous wars. He wore a crimson red robe that I think serves no purpose but he did look so damn cool with it as if he is really in authority and has the power to control the situation. His wings are equipped with titanium blades with magical spells on them. The spell appears to be a demon-cleansing spell similar to the spell that was engraved on all of their weapons. Weak types of demons are vulnerable to this kind of weapon. They don't have enough power to deflect the effect of the spells. H
Dylan's POV:"Yes," Aria's quick response to my proposal. "Yes, I will marry you, Dylan Lockey!" she repeats her answer will all sincerity and a rainbow of emotions at her disposal.Everyone releases an audible sigh and forcibly claps their hands to show support for our engagement. They don't want to ruin the moment, so nobody said anything to contradict the happy scene.I stood up and inserted the ring on the fourth finger of Aria's left hand and just now realized that it was no ordinary ring. The size is adjusted to the finger of the owner of the ring and the color of the gemstone changes depending on Aria's mood. Aria looks very impressed with her ring. I can see the wide smile on her face and the sparkling look in her eyes."Do you like it?" I asked her even though I already knew the answer, it is still good to hear her say those words."I love it," she quick
Dylan's POV:A great philosopher once said that if you want to succeed in life then your desire for success must be greater than anything else. There is no room for failure. I may be turning back into a human being, but I am still a demon and I will do anything in my power to get Aria's wing no matter the odds. Even if it means I have to return to my old ruthless self again.I let Aria, and the others go outside the cave for I don't want her to see the monster in me. I love her and I am afraid that she will resent me if she witnesses my true nature. It took me almost an hour before I finally reached the exit of the cave and everybody is waiting patiently for me to come out of the cave.As expected, there are all busy fighting the orcs. They are doing their best to hold their ground while I was busy negotiating with the Queen of the Damned."What took you so long?
