I had made a terrible, terrible mistake.
“Go on, tell Nana what you want,” Maria said, as she was holding Jade’s hand. “Look at those shoes, it’s pretty, isn’t it? Do you want three of them?”
Jade smiled, “Five of them, Nana!”
“Delightful!” Maria tapped a sale’s lady on the shoulder, “Give me five, different colors.”
Slapping my forehead, I watched as Maria walked along the kid’s shoe section with Jade. Meanwhile, Maverick was walking with Gray and Blue beside him, Ash carried and perched on his hips. Markus was walking beside me, pushing a shopping cart. A shopping cart that was already filled with tons of toys, books, clothes, and shoes.
