Chapter 5

Christ step off his elevator and stride to his office. He sighted his secretary pacing font and back, worry marred on her face.

When she saw him coming, she marches hurriedly and walk up to him, he looked at her with a raised brow.

"What's the problem? Why are you here looking like a mess?" He asked, waiting for her response.

She couldn't utter a word, each time she opens her mouth to talk, she closes it back. She mustered the courage and spoke up.

"Her.. Her sis.. Sister is in your office." She said, pointing to the door of his office.

He didn't question why she had to let her in, when he's not around, he knows better than to ask, she might have threatened her.

"Go back to work, I'm not going to terminate your employment because you let her into my office without my consent." He responded.

Her eyes lit up, and the sweat rolling down from her body quickly dried off. She bow her head and dash to her seat.

Christ walk to his office and turned in the doorknob, his gaze landed on the figure seated on his chair while she twirls around.

"Just in a day, two sisters came." He muttered and step into the office.

"You know it is rude to seat on my chair, also barging into my office when I'm not around." He said, with a dark expression on his face, rubbing his thumb.

She turns to him and start to laugh, she stood up and march close to him.

"Where have you been, handsome? It's unlike you to leave the office during work hours." She said, fixing his collar.

He chortled at her gust to even touch him, "you know I only allow you to do all these things because you are a lady right?" He asked.

She suddenly uses her hands to cover her mouth, taking him surprised. She never seizes to amaze me, she hasn't changed a bit, he thought.

"I should be honored then." She responded. But he got irritated and shove her out of his way. He walks to his seat and plopped on it, then he slightly loosen his neck tie and put on his laptop.

She huffed and stood up from the couch.

"Don't tell me you're trying to seduce me?"

"Sorry to boost your bubble, you're not my kind of woman, I have never seen you like a woman, I have never been drawn to you, you're a man with women features, whoever finds you attractive isn't sane. So tell me why you're here and get the f out of my office." He responded. His gaze on his laptop without lifting his head up.

She was boiling with anger, who the hell Is he to refer to her as a man? Other men are dying to have her on their bed, but he sees her as a man? Going over heels to have her. She lean on his wooden desk with a straight face.

"I will get this straight, I know you're too dull to understand, but l will make it simple to concise. Stay away from my sister, I repeat stay away from my sister, stop forcing yourself on her, she doesn't want you, she only loves Liam, he is the only man for her, and not some dummies like you, this should be the last time I warn you." She said, and picked up her bag from his desk.

She turned on her heel's and walk out of his office, shaking her hips, with the hope of getting his attention.

But Christ knew better than to look up. Immediately he heard the door closed behind, he lifts his head up. "This sisters are psychos." He muttered.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a contact.

"It's me, Let's meet and have dinner." He said, and hung up.

His door crept open, his PA walk into the office.

"Boss..." He was cut off by Christ.

"I want you to assign someone to watch Anita, day in and night, watch who she meets, where she goes and even the clothes she wears if possible. Make sure you report everything to me." His PA nodded before handing him over some documents.

"It's Mr Andrew background check up. He is Working with your brother, he is the one carrying out all his dirty work assigned by Liam."

Christ flip through it and a sinister smile appeared on his face.

"What about the work I gave you?"

He starts to fidget, scratching the crock of his neck, and slightly took some calculated stride.

"Boss I'm sorry we're still on it, there's no trace of the person who set the store house ablaze."

Christ demeanor changed, he doesn't like it when he has to repeat himself, he doesn't like waiting for too long before getting a hold of what he wants.

"I'm giving you 72 hours, make sure it's on my table before I come to the office."

"I will do just that, thank you, boss."

"Get me the head of security." His PA scamper out of his office. Minutes later, the security head stride into his office.

"You sent for my boss."

Christ gaze locked with his, "Listen carefully, you saw the man that just walk out of my office?" The security head was confused.

"Boss it's a woman not a man." He corrected his boss.

"Oh yes, it was a woman, I don't want to ever see him/her around this vicinity, if I ever do, I don't care if you have mouths to feed or a family to care for, just drop in your resignation letter. Do you understand?"

The security head was now scared, he was about to lose his job over some lady.

"Yes boss, understood." Christ signaled him to leave, and he quickly strides out of his office. He relaxes back on the chair, the thought of Anna creep into his mind.

~

Anna kept driving without destination. It was getting late, but she needed to clear her head. Just in two days time, her four years of hard work is crumbling down, she can't even keep what she has worked for, she was disappointed in herself.

She found herself driving to the cemetery, it's been four years since she last visited her mother, she needed nothing but her, maybe a little talk with her mum would make her feel a lot better. She drove until she got to the cemetery, pulled up and step out of the car.

She walks into the cemetery with tears welled up in her eyes, wind blowing the trees, making the whole place chill, each time it blew, it becomes chiller.

She knelt down with tears streaming from her eyes.

"Mother, it's me, I'm sorry, I know it's cold down there. I'm sorry I came without flowers, but I promise to come see you soon again with your favorite blue flowers. I'm sorry I'm just coming today after four years, I never visited, I had always wanted to, but I couldn't bring myself to you, I was scared."

"How have you been? I hope you haven't been sad, you have been smiling and happy?"

"I couldn't bring myself to you, I still carry the guilt inside of me, I cause your death, you left me in this strange word to suffer all by myself. Not only that, but I want to be with you, please come back, I need you the most, can you even hear me?" She said, and start to cry uncontrollably.

She continued crying until she heard a voice.

"Of course she can hear you." She shuddered and spun around to look at the figure.

It was an old man in his late 80s, he had a wide grin on his face, with wrinkled face.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Who are my? I work here?" He replied smiling.

"Why are you crying? I'm sure you're not crying because of your mum?" He added.

She was astounded at how he could guess right. But who works in the cemetery, she thought.

"Are you a Gypsy? How did you know?" She had promised not to cry again, the night she flew out of City L, but today she couldn't bring herself to hold them back.

"Of course I would know." He replied, and start to walk away.

She took a last glimpse at her mum grave.

"I will come back to visit." She muttered, stood up and hasten her pace to meet with the old man.

She kept walking behind him until he halt and turn to her.

"I lost my parents when I was twenty-five years old and ever since then, I felt the only way I could still be close to them is to work at the cemetery. When I started working here, I cried everyday until I could cry no more, I dropped out from school and made sure I was always with them."

Anna was processing what he just said until realization hit her.

"Did you say twenty-five? You look like someone in your 80s now." She said.

He smiled and start to walk again. "It doesn't matter if I'm in my 80s, I want to go see my parents soon, when I die I would like to be buried next to them."

Anna wanted to ask a lot of questions, but she doesn't even know who he is. What if she's talking to a ghost? She thought, and shook her head.

"You should go now, you can't go any further." She heard.

She snap out of her stupor and scan the environment. She's not familiar with the place, they had come really far.

"Will I see you when next I come?" She asked.

"It's time for you to go, you can always see me when you come to the cemetery, I will be there." He pointed at a route she's not familiar with.

She wanted to ask more questions, but couldn't. She stood there and just watch him walk out of her sight.

"Only God knows if he is not a ghost." She mumbled, and wipe the tears from her eyes.

She turned on her heel's and went back to where her car was parked. She got into the car and drove to the mansion. A few minutes later, she arrived, and parked.

Three figures stood there waiting for her to get down, worry marred on their face.

Billie quickly strides to her and pull her into a hug.

"If something happens to you, where do I go to? Who will look after me?" Billie ask crying.

She felt bad for her actions, she got all of them worried. Billie stayed with her Aunt after her mom passed away, but she was never cared for.

One day, she ran away from home to start a life on her own, there she met Anna on the street, who was also trying to make a living. And ever since then, Anna has become her family.

"I'm sorry, I just needed to clear my head."

"I'm sorry all this is happening to you." Billie said, still crying.

"It's okay, let's go inside." They all walk back into the house. Anna cleaned up and return to the living room, they had dinner, and just like always, the men washed the dishes.

They were all seated in the living room, she told them everything she discusses with Christ, his offers and all, leaving the part that she went to the cemetery.

"I don't agree to it." Khalifa quickly rushed out.

"What is wrong with his offer? You know she can't go to the bank for such a loan." Romeo said.

Anna looked at the both of them, Khalifa is the youngest, but he is wiser than Romeo. She hasn't thought of accepting his offer yet, so there's no need to argue.

"Sis, I will advise you allow him to invest in your company instead of taking a loan from him. Once you do, he will request for a collateral, and you know you don't have anything to give to him, except if you want to put this house, or maybe offer him a 10% share until you pay up his money." Billie suggested.

"I think you made a point right there, I will think about it." Anna said.

Khalifa shook his head "you don't have to think about it sis, you can't get yourself involved with Christ, he has a lot of enemies, his not even close with his brothers, things are going to get worse if that happens."

Anna's eyes were getting heavier, she needed nothing than to rest right now. She stood up from the couch.

"Fine, I won't take his offer, let's drop the topic. I will rest my eyes." She said , and start to walk to her room, leaving Romeo to argue with Khalifa.
