It was supposed to make me feel better.

The land was under investigation now and the body of my father's bodyguard had been taken by the states to discover the cause of death.

Even if Ferrara managed to get out of this, there was now a public dent in his reputation and that land had lost its value.

He wouldn't be able to build his precious goldmine for years.

I had gotten back at him in a way that was supposed to make me feel good. Yet all I had was this gnawing emptiness in my heart.

And it didn't help that Christopher had resumed school and spent his free time at home studying and playing games.
