6. Finding a job

Daniella had been searching on and off for a job for some weeks now,

since it was Amy who paid for the whole lot currently, but it seemed like

every door was being slammed shut in her face. It was frustrating, to say the

least. She had a decent college degree and was now in medical school so

she thought it would be easy to get a job since she was a smart girl, or so

she thought but it seemed like that wasn’t enough to land her even a basic

decent job! to her utter dismay.

She and Amy have been sharing this apartment for some months now,

and they initially set up a plan to split the rent and bills evenly. Amy, who

brought in the most cash of help from her family, said she would pay up the

first couple of weeks until Daniella had found a job.

She had found one before, a part-time job at a coffee shop, but the pay

was barely enough to cover her share of the rent, let alone anything else so

she had not even bothered to fill in the application online and had searched
