Chapter Two

It's finally Saturday. I get out of bed and go to my phone to check the time. It's 12:34, and I've got the whole weekend ahead of me. It's not that I am going somewhere, but I can finally relax, watch TV, and sleep as long as I want. I get out of bed and make my way to the bathroom. I decided to take a bath, so I started to fill the bathtub with warm water and placed a coconut bath bomb in it.

While I waited for the tub to fill, I went to the kitchen and poured myself a glass of white wine, which happens to be my favorite, and grabbed the book I'm currently reading. I walked to the bathroom, locked the door behind me, undressed, and jumped into the tub. I rest as I feel the warmth throughout every inch of my body and relax my muscles thanks to the warm water and the coconut scent. I begin reading my novel, which talks about a boy who is a mafia leader and falls in love with his childhood best friend. I don't know why, but I have always had sympathy for mafia books. The way they think, the way they solve problems by killing anyone who gets in their way of harming them or their plan, and the fact that their family is the most valuable thing they have, they will go to any length to keep them safe. The fact that they can do whatever they want and go wherever they want. God, what wouldn't I do to just live a day in mafia life and experience all the action and adrenalin that they go through?

Once I feel the water starting to get colder, I leave the tub, open the drain, and cover myself in a towel. I went to the bathroom sink and began brushing my teeth, then exited the bathroom and went to the closet. I changed into a pair of loose-fitting shorts and a t-shirt and headed to the kitchen to eat. I begin making an omelet and pour myself another glass of wine. I start cleaning the dishes and tidying up the living room after I finish eating. Then I go to my room, which is a disaster, and start putting things back in order and start vacuuming the floor with the vacuum cleaner. I return to the living room after doing all of my chores, relax on my sofa, turn on the TV, and set it to my favorite channel, where Friends is currently airing.

After nearly three hours of me sitting in front of the TV, I was hungry and decided to prepare some food. I go to the kitchen and begin looking for something to eat. To not my surprise, I don't have anything. It's been almost a week since I last went grocery shopping. I have been so busy with work that I didn't have time to do anything, so I decided to go grocery shopping. First I made a list of what I needed to buy and then began getting ready. I decided to go with some white shorts, a black t-shirt, and white sneakers. I put my long brown hair in a ponytail and left the apartment, being careful to lock it. I walked to the parking lot to get in my car and drive to the store.

When I got in the car, I turned on the radio and listened to Lana Del Rey's song "Blue Jeans," which is one of my favorite songs. I turned on my car and drove to the store. To my surprise, there was no traffic, so I was able to get to my destination quickly. I parked my car close to the store so I wouldn't have to carry my bags for too long, then entered the store and began looking through the list I had made earlier, taking everything I wanted and placing it in the basket. After getting everything on my list, I walked to the checkout, paid, and placed the groceries in shopping bags. Then I returned to my car and placed the shopping bags in the trunk, then went inside my car, and started driving home.

All that had been crossing my mind all day was that guy from the bar. I have met so many guys at work, but none of them got my attention no matter how much they tried to impress me. But this one was different, and that bothered me. His eyes were so familiar, but I have no idea where I had seen him before. I don't even know anything about him, yet he still has an impact on me, even though I don't even know his name.

I spent the rest of the night in front of the TV, watching comedy shows and eating popcorn. I checked my phone to see what time it was and it was 20:40, so I decided to switch off the TV and finish my book. I went to my room, changed into my pajamas, and grabbed my book off the nightstand to continue reading it. To be honest, he hasn't left my thoughts in a long time, and all I could think of was the feeling that invaded my body the moment his soft, plump lips kissed my cheek. His whispers in my ear caused goosebumps all over my body. I'm trying to focus on my reading, but all I can think about is his face.

Suddenly, my phone rings. I reached out to check who it was. It's Bella, my best friend since forever. We met each other in fifth grade, and since then we have been there for each other. She decided to continue her studies in Spain, and it's been almost a year since I saw her for the last time, but we text and FaceTime each other almost every day.

"Hey girl, how are you? I miss you so much. I know it's late, but I just came from Spain and I am dying to meet you. "

'' What? I can't believe you're here. Where are you? I am coming right now.''

'' I am at the airport. Can you pick me up?''

''Yeah, of course, say less.''

I get out of bed as quickly as possible and put on some clothes. I changed into black pants, a t-shirt. I closed my apartment door and went to the parking lot. I got into my car and drove to the airport. Thankfully, traffic was light, so I was able to get there quickly. I stepped out of the car and found her standing at the main entrance with her blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, and she was dressed in blue jeans and a crop top. Her green eyes were looking for me, and as soon as they saw me, she ran as quickly as she could and hugged me.

"Oh my god, I've missed you so much."

"Me too," I respond, as I pull away from her hug and begin helping her with her stuff.

''God, have you packed your whole house in here?'' I asked as I tried to get her stuff to my car.

''Elly.'' I heard Bella's voice from behind me.

''Yeah, hun, what's up?'' I say, turning around and facing Bella, who has a big smile on her face. ''Why are you smiling?'' I say with a confused look.

''Did you check yourself in the mirror before you got out of the house?''

"No. Why? " I say still confused.

''Your pants are backward.'' She says, and she bursts into laughter. No way. I look down at my legs and see my pants backwards.

''Ha ha ha. Really funny.'' I say in a sarcastic voice as I can spot two boys a couple of meters away laughing too, because Bella, being the loudest human in the world, couldn't keep her voice low this time.

''There's a new trend going around,'' I say to the boys that are still looking in our direction. ''You should try it,'' I said, trying to play off my embarrassment and heading to my car. We got in the car after putting Bella's things in the trunk.

''I can still stay at your place, can't I?" she asks, her lovely green eyes fixed on me, and she makes puppy eyes, making it impossible for me to say no. Not that I had a plan to say it, but still, I can't stay mad at her.

"Of course, hun, you are welcome to stay as long as you want at my place," I say in a sarcastic voice.

I parked the car in front of my building and loaded all of her things into the elevator. I open my apartment door and we walk in. I put the suitcases in my room and went straight to the kitchen.

"Nice apartment," she says as she wanders around and explores the house. "It has a lot of space, and the decoration is amusing," she adds.

I've left my previous apartment, where my mother and I had lived for almost my entire life. I couldn't pay the rent since it was too expensive. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure how she paid for it. I mean, I did everything I could to help pay the rent with the money I earned from my many jobs, but still, something didn't sit right with me. How did she manage to pay for all of the rent? I push that thought to the back of my head.

"Have you had anything to eat?" I asked Bella.

''No, I haven't eaten anything all day," she says, so I make some sandwiches and pour a glass of white wine for each of us, and we eat and talk at my kitchen's improvised dinner table. After we finished eating, I washed the plates and carried the bottle of wine and two glasses to the living room, where we sat on the couch. She started to tell me about this new guy she had in her class. They have exchanged their numbers and have texted each other for almost a week. From the photos she showed me, he was really cute and he and Bella would be really good together, but it is still early for this. The rest of the night went with me and Bella drinking wine and talking about every topic that crossed our minds.
