Chapter thirty-one

Jessica took a deep breath when the elevator came to a halt; the two love birds of a couple got out before her and she silently followed in steady steps. The majestic decorations and the romantic flower displays spread all the way towards the restaurant

 Inside she’s approached by a waiter who show her to a table by the corner where she could admire a small garden and moments later, her breakfast was served.

The fancy hotel offered more than she could ever eat alone, and although Jessica had a hearty appetite it was a bit too much for one person. Looking around, her heart dipped; almost all the tables were occupied by couples, both young and old.

 She was the only woman having breakfast alone except for an old man who seemed to be in his late fifties.

A thought crossed her mind about the desert island and she smiled bitterly.<
